The life story of two sisters Yusra Mardini and Sarah Mardini, born with a dream to be the best swimmers and get the Olympic medal for their country, Syria. The movie showcases the unbelievable challenges the two of them faced and eventually succeeded to make their dream true.

The two sisters are coached for swimming by their father who himself participated in several swimming championship events.

Unfortunately, the situation of civil war happened just a year earlier than the Olympics. The situation is so worse, that most people are only left with the option to be refugees in another country for their survival.

Yusra and Sara also decide to reach Germany, so they can be there for some time, and return once the situation stabilises.

However, the journey from Syria to Germany is no less than summit the of Mount Everest. They first reached Turkey by plane, then Germany via Greece on a boat.

Since there were 18 more asylum seekers with them, the boat got overburdened, without a second thought, Sara and Yusra jumped into the sea and swam the entire route of the Aegean Sea for 3 and a half hours to bring everybody safely to the beachside.

The story didn’t end here, Yusra the younger one, resumed her training as she reached the refugee camp, got her name in the refugee team, and also got trained under the coach of the same team.

She continued to focus on the dream she has been living for 9 years of herself, and live it by winning the butterfly swimming in Rio Olympics, and got herself registered as the symbol, of will, determination, and consistency.

On the other side, Sara continued swimming for her enjoyment, and also become a Goodwill ambassador and look after the refugees.

The two sisters are always by their side in all the ups and downs and make their life an inspiration for many who choose to give up when the situation doesn’t go in their favour.
